The Gobles boys basketball team played Bloomingdale in the second round of Districts, and could not match the intensity or pace of the Cardinals at the start of the game. The Tigers found themselves down quickly. “Bloomingdale came out and put together an incredibly effective scoring half to start the game,” said Gobles Coach Scott Sherrod.  “While we didn’t want the season to end, the year was not a loss for the Tigers. There were to many off-the-court life victories to count to go along with a double digit win season for a team made up of all nine juniors.
“I look forward to next year, and want to thank Chris Whitt for carrying the Hustle & Heart torch as the lone senior this year.”
Gobles’ Karsen Tackett scored 14 points; Brady Burnell had four points, 13 rebounds, and four blocks in the 49-33 loss to end the season.
