More than 465 area elementary students attended the first day, May 15, of a two-day event, FFA Agriculture Awareness Day, at the Van Buren Youth fairgrounds.
Agriculture Awareness Day brings together elementary students from across the county to learn about agriculture and natural resources.
Students spent time at 14 different hands-on stations, each showcasing commodities grown in Southwest Michigan. Some of the stations included beef, swine, horticulture, and more. The students had a chance to hear about animals, as well as pet them.
