Lawrence School Board upgrades building security and purchases Chromebooks for classrooms

    LAWRENCE - At Monday night’s Lawrence Board of Education meeting, the board accepted the resignation of  Todd Rice, assistant varsity football coach.
    The board  approved:
    •The purchase of 60 Chromebooks and licensing for use in  the district’s classrooms at a cost of  $11,577.
    •Motions for Presidio to upgrade the access control manager and emergency strobes at a cost of  $20,275, as well as a contract for installing cameras in the elementary school and at the bus garage campus in the amount of $9,250  and $6,750, respectively.
    •The position of behavior intervention specialist and also an assessment co-ordinator and state reporting administrative assistant.
    •Stipends of $25 for Lawrence Board of Education members ($25 per month/one per month).
