At the May 20 meeting of the Lawton Board of Education, the Lawton High School Green Club, led by science teacher Laura Cross, received a plaque and flag from Emily Hickmott of the Van Buren Conservation District.  Earning the designation as a Green School involved district initiatives such as an LED lighting retrofit project, as well as school level projects including composting, recycling, and environmental awareness activities. The Board also recognized the Lawton Middle School April Students of the Month.
