PPHS Senior plans Eagle Scout project

Michael Hartman, a Paw Paw High School senior and a member of Paw Paw Boy Scout Troop 169, had originally planned a spaghetti fundraiser to raise money for his Eagle Scout project - the purchase and installation of a 10-foot high brick/electronic display sign to be placed west of the current Paw Paw Lions Club sign on County Road 665. Despite the benefit dinner being cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic, Hartman was able to secure funding for a planned August installation. Hartman said the sign will benefit more than the Paw Paw Lions Club, as it will also be a community event calendar used to display community functions. Hartman is the son of Mike and Joy Hartman of Paw Paw, Hartman’s grandfather, Michael, is also an active Paw Paw Lions Club member, who has overseen the group’s bingo events every Sunday since 1976.
