Village Players set auditions for summer production, “Oklahoma”

PAW PAW - The Paw Paw Village Players will hold auditions for their summer musical, the classic, “Oklahoma!”, on Sunday and Monday, May 19 and 20, at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran School, 725 Pine Street, Paw Paw.
The show requires a large cast, and Players’ president Don Stine is hoping to fill it with some trained dancers and vocalists. He noted that the roles of Ado Annie, Ali Hakim, and Jud have already been cast. “However, we are always incredibly excited to welcome cast members who are new to theatre, and would love to see everyone possible at auditions,” Stine added. “There are roles for every experience level! We hope to see you there!”
Adults and youth, age 12 and up are asked to prepared to sing a 60-90 second cut from a classic musical or this show, and to do a cold read from the script. “Wear comfortable clothes,” said Stine. “There will be dancing.”
Stine said the PPVP have initiated a $10 pay-to-participate fee for everyone cast in a show to help meet production costs. “There are several ways to meet this requirement,” Stine said. “So, don’t let the prospect of this deter you from auditioning.”
