Retired Senior Volunteer Program of VBC volunteers honored

Volunteer members of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Van Buren County (RSVP) were honored by local officials and staff of Senior Services of Van Buren County in early April.  Guests were honored with lunch and dessert at Simpson United Methodist Church in Bangor.  Bangor City Manager Regina Hoover read a proclamation signed by Bangor Mayor Nick Householder.  Arlington Township Trustee Douglas DeLeo thanked volunteers for their service and helped to serve lunch. Bangor Mayor ProTem Lynne Farmer was also on hand to thank volunteers.  National Service Recognition Day is a program of the Corporation for National and Community Service. (CNCS).  “Senior Services and RSVP of Van Buren County  are proud to be affiliated with CNCS,” according to Michelle Davis, Director, RSVP of Van Buren County, and Assistant Director, Senior Services of Van Buren County.  Anyone aged 55 or older who is interested in volunteer opportunities may contact Senior Services at (269) 655-8000.
