Receives Blue Ribbon Office of Excellence Award

Farm Bureau Insurance Agent Brian Lietzau, of Paw Paw, center, has received the Blue Ribbon Office of Excellence Award from Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan. The Paw Paw Area Chamber of Commerce helped Lietzau, his wife, Vickie, their son, Derek, and other Farm Bureau Insurance representatives and office staff celebrate the accomplishment, Tuesday, May 19, with a ribbon cutting ceremony at The Lietzau Agency, 408 W. Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. The Blue Ribbon Office of Excellence Award honors Lietzau and his staff, for making outstanding investments in his office while modeling exemplary professionalism and leadership in the workplace.

Eleanor’s Pantry receives donation

Dustin Nehls, center, of the Paw Paw branch of Honor Credit Union, presents a check for $1,500 to Eleanor’s Pantry in Paw Paw. Pat McKinney, a volunteer there, accepts it. Eleanor’s food pantry serves those in need in Van Buren County. Powered By Honor, Honor Credit Union’s community fund, offered the donation to McKinney and Nellie DeLong, another volunteer. The pantry is the only food bank serving Paw Paw and Lawton and serves an average of 1,000 children and adults every month. It is staffed completely by volunteers with no paid staff members. The pantry, located at 221 Drew Street, operates solely on the generosity of the community and does not receive government funding. Powered By Honor’s donation will supply the pantry with up to 9,000 pounds of food, as every dollar donated is capable of purchasing six to seven pounds of food from Feeding America.
