Sandra L. Hoffman-Russell

    Sandra Lee Hoffman-Russell,  80, of Grand Junction, MI, died peacefully and went to be with her Lord, April 23, 2019. Sandy was born Feb. 1, 1939, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Vernon and Bernice (Horn) Martin.
    Sandy had the wonderful gift of a servant’s heart, always doing what she could for others. She particularly enjoyed volunteering for many years with the Milwood Little League, where her calligraphy skills gracefully crafted numerous Little League World Series certificates. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking and was known for her exceptional sewing skills. Her pride and joy though was her family for whom she had such tremendous love.
    Sandy was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert A. Hoffman; and her three brothers, Ron, Sonny, and David Martin.
    Surviving are her husband, Raymond Russell; three children, Al (Karen) Hoffman, Karen (Rod) Altom, and Mike (Julie) Hoffman; seven grandchildren, Krista, Amber, Ryan, Erik, Maria, Andrea, and Aimee; five great-grandchildren, Brayden, Ayla, Isaac, Cohen, and Dylan; three siblings, Bobby Martin, Debra Hopkins, and Tim (Vickie) Martin; three step-children, Ray “Butch” (Melanie) Russell, Jim (Benny) Russell, and Mike Russell; several step- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
    Visit with family and friends today (Friday, April 26),  from 5 to 7 p.m. at Betzler Life Story Funeral Home, 6080 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, (269) 375-2900. A service will be held Saturday, April 27, at 3:30 p.m.,  with visitation one hour prior at Agape Christian Church, 609 Cherokee St., Kalamazoo. A reception will follow in the church hall. Private burial will take place.
