The Lawton Lady Blue Devils entertained Southwestern Athletic Conference foe Galesburg-Augusta on Tuesday for a game that turned into a rough outing for the home team.
The Lady Blue Devils started the game off strong, holding the Lady Rams  to just eight points in the first quarter, but still found themselves behind 8-7 at the end of the period. Unfortunately, Lawton’s shooting hit the skids for the next two quarters, and the girls scored only three points in 16 minutes of play. In the meantime, the Galesburg girls scored 13 points in the second quarter alone and headed into the final period up by 30. The Lady Devils put six more points on the board in the fourth quarter, but fell to the Rams, 47-16.
Though the Blue Devils couldn’t get their game going at either end of the court, they deserve credit for refusing to give up, and playing together as a team.
