The Gobles football played the last game of the 2018 season at Galesburg-Augusta. The Tigers fell just short, losing 12-8 and finished their season 1-8.
“We had too many mistakes, mistakes that you can’t afford to have when you are fighting for a win,” said Gobles Coach Thad Schafer. “Kevin Chandler was our only senior this season and he scored our lone touchdown in the game. We moved him from his guard position to halfback after we suffered injuries in our backfield. I can’t say enough about Kevin, he really stepped up as a leader for this team and it will be a huge gap to fill next year.”
Gobles’ leading rusher was Caleb Brady with 93 yards.  Defensively, Brady had 22 tackles. Dylan Schafer added 14 tackles and a fumble recovery.
The Tigers had 148 total yards.
