Lawrence closes season with a win

   NEW BUFFALO - The Lawrence Tigers varsity 8-man football team traveled to New Buffalo last Friday, Oct. 25, and came home with a 38-6 win to finish the regular season at 4-5.
   Offensively, the Tigers were led by quarterback Bol Bak, who rushed the ball 16 times for 128 yards, and through the air, he threw two touchdowns, the first one for 42 yards to Juan Villanueva and the second touchdown, to Jakob Edson covering 90 yards.
   Edson also had a big night on the ground, carrying the ball nine times for 126 yards and two more touchdowns. Zach Payment carried the ball five times for another 52 yards.
   On the night, the Tiger offense totaled 501 yards, 321 on the ground and 180 yards in the air.
   Defensively, the Tigers were led by Jamin Rodriguez with nine tackles, followed by six  tackles each by Daniel Gray, Villanueva , Bailee Page (3.5 tackles for loss) and Brandon Lopez. Lopez also had two interceptions and caused a fumble that was recovered by Payment.


   Lawrence Public Schools and coaching staff expressed their thanks to seniors Brandon Lopez, Marco Pantlan, Dakota Thompson, Lanndan Copeman and Juan Villanueva for their contributions to the football team.
