Gobles wins a walk off with Union City

   GOBLES - The Gobles softball team hosted a tournament on Saturday with Paw Paw, Plainwell and Union City. The Tigers started the day against Paw Paw and struggled as they committed seven errors and only had two hits in the 16-0 loss. 
   Gobles’ Maddy Tiller and McKenzie Lisowski each had a hit in the game. Emily Lopez took the loss in the circle.
   In the second game, Gobles played Union City. The Tigers bats warmed up as they had 10 hits in the game. In a game that was back and fourth, it all came down to the last inning. With the Tigers up 8-7 in the seventh inning,  Union City scored a run in the top of the seventh to go up by one run.
   Gobles’ Amanda Barber reached base with a walk to put the winning run on base.  She advanced to third on Union City errors to put her in scoring position.  Morgan Witt laid down a sacrifice bunt that scored the winning run with a final score of 9-8.  
   Gobles hits came from:  Lisowski and Barber, with two each, and Libbee Nason,  Rhaney Harris, Emily Baxter  (DBL), Tatum Miller (triple), Witt, and Victoria Fenton, each with one hit. Pitching for Gobles was Barber going 2.1 innings, and Emily Lopez pitching 2.2 innings.
