Paw Paw downs So. Haven; falls to Plainwell

    Paw Paw - Hosting South Haven in tennis Monday, the Redskins jumped out to a quick lead in singles and never let up to claim a 7-1 Wolverine Conference victory over the Rams.  Winners for Paw Paw were Cameron Walker, No. 1 singles, 6-2, 6-3; Ben Hulst, No. 2 singles, 6-1, 6-2; and Christian Johnson, No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0.  
    Paw Paw swept the doubles competitions. Tommy Simon and Jim McCaw  made a nice comeback to take No. 1 doubles, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. In No. 2 doubles, Josh Van Roekel and Gabe Rogers breezed to a 6-0, 6-1 win,  as did Reese Bolisek-Wisser and Calvin John-son in No. 3 doubles. All were followed by Ryen Fusko and Andy Malcolm completing the sweep at No. 4 doubles, 6-1, 6-3.


    On Paw Paw’s home courts last Wednesday, in a very well-played Wolverine Conference match, the Plainwell Trojans came out on top by a 5-3 count.
    Walker at No. 1 singles won 6-3, 6-3; and Christian Johnson came out on top at No. 3  singles by a 1-6, 6-1, 6-2 three set flight.  
    In  doubles play, the lone Redskins victory came at No. 3 doubles with Reese Golisek-Wisser and Calvin Johnson pulling out a 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 triumph.
