Gobles wrestler Hunter Underwood qualified for the State championship by finishing in fourth place at Regionals. Underwood lost his first bout 11-6, but scored back-to-back pins in his next two matches to keep the day going.  In the consolation finals, Underwood lost a close 9-8 bout to capture fourth place.  Underwood has a 37-7 record.
“It was an exceptionally difficult region,” said Gobles Coach Vincent Lindel. “Several top caliber area athletes are sitting at home who are good enough to be there. So it's a big deal to get to the show and represent yourself and school.”
Tiger Cody Hatten also competed at Regionals. He lost both his bouts but had a good sophomore season, going 17-10.
